Keith L. Camacho is a Chamorro scholar from the Mariana Islands. In 2005, he received his Ph.D. in Pacific History at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. A year later, he joined the faculty of the Asian American Studies Department at the University of California, Los Angeles. Since then, Keith has received fellowships from the Australian National University, the University of Canterbury, the University of Illinois, and the University of Sydney. He is also the author of Cultures of Commemoration: The Politics of War, Memory, and History in the Mariana Islands (2011), the co-editor of Militarized Currents: Toward a Decolonized Future in Asia and the Pacific (2010), and the former senior editor of Amerasia Journal(2014-2018). Presently, Keith is studying the Sāmoan oral histories of Aotearoa and California.
